I believe therapy should be a space made by you and for you.
My approach to therapy is rooted in the power of relationships in the healing process. I prioritize building a strong therapeutic relationship with you, where trust and authenticity are at the foundation. During sessions, it is important to me that clients feel heard and feel like I meet them where they are at. I view the therapy space as a playground, where clients can express themselves freely, gain new insights, and explore ways to infuse those insights into their life. I specialize in helping clients understand how they engage with others and explore ways to gain more satisfaction in their relational connections. Additionally, I focus on assisting clients in developing practical coping skills. I help to deconstruct commercialized views of self-care practices and help clients build a toolbox of strategies that are personalized to them.
My worldview is influenced by my experiences as a bilingual (English/Spanish), 1st-generation Puerto Rican and Afro-Colombian cisgender woman. My clinical interests include minority identity development, Latinx mental health, self-esteem, imposter syndrome, graduate school stress, relational conflicts, stress management, life transitions, grieving, breakups, relational trauma, depression, and anxiety.
During my free time, I like to enjoy a nice cup of cafecito, watch documentaries, cook Caribbean food, listen to Spanish music, and random dance parties with my kids.
